Description

This property comprises three houses at 77, 79, and 79A Warwick Street, Royal Leamington Spa, built around 1822-1826 and subsequently altered, including the installation of mid-to-late 20th century shop fronts at ground floor level. The building is constructed from reddish-brown brick with an unpainted stucco facade and a Welsh slate roof.

The exterior displays a four-storey, five-window arrangement. Plain pilasters are visible from the first to the second, second to the third, and third to the fourth windows. Above these pilasters, remnants of pilasters with Tuscan capitals project from a continuous cornice, blocking course, and copings. The first floor has 6/6 sash windows; the second floor features 3/6 sashes; and the third floor has 3/3 sashes, all set within plain reveals with sills. The ground floor has entrances to the left and right, with a stepped two-panel door and overlight to the left and two steps leading to a three-panel door with overlight and door-knocker (a wreath with a hand motif) to the right. The remaining ground floor sections incorporate two part-glazed entrances with overlights within projecting glazed shop fronts, the fronts being chamfered towards the entrances. A ridge stack is topped with a cornice.

The interior of the building has not been inspected. Warwick Street was laid out during the 1820s.
