Description

This is a 16th-century timber-framed building of two storeys plus an attic, located on the east side of Mill Street. The building is of particular group value, forming part of a wider group of listed buildings on both sides of Mill Street. Originally numbered 47 (now renumbered 45 as numbers 47 and 49 no longer exist), it has plaster infilling between the timber framing. The front features twin gables with barge boards and finials. The lower storey has close-set studding, while the first floor is jettied and supported by four curved brackets. The upper floor displays heavy square timber framing. A modern oak door provides access to the building. Large 18th-century casement windows are fitted with modern leaded lights. The roof is covered with old tiles. A modern extension has been added to the rear of the building.
