Description
This is a late 16th-century building on Denmark Street, altered and extended later. The southern portion, number 50, retains exposed timber framing with an overhanging first floor and front gable. It has a brick plinth. The remainder of the building has a plastered facade. The roof is now covered with modern pantiles. Casement windows are visible. The interior reveals exposed timber framing, particularly in the south section, which features stop-moulded beams and heavy joists, as seen in numbers 49 and 50. Later alterations are evident towards the north of the building. Numbers 37 to 45, 47 to 58, 60 to 63, and 65 to 67 form a group.
