Description

No 50 on Denmark Street is a late 16th-century building that has undergone alterations and additions. The southern portion features exposed timber framing, an overhanging first floor, and a front gable, while the lower part has a brick plinth and the rest is faced with plaster. The roof is covered with modern pantiles, and there are casement windows. Inside, the timber framing is mainly visible in the southern part, showcasing stop-moulded beams and heavy joists, particularly in Nos 49 and 50. There have been later alterations towards the north. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 37 to 45, 47 to 58, 60 to 63, and 65 to 67.
