Description
Nos 53 and 54 on Denmark Street are 17th century buildings that have been altered. They are two stories tall with an attic and are plastered, featuring a 19th century red brick face. The steep roof is covered with pantiles. Number 53 has a gabled half-dormer casement window on the first floor and an early 19th century shop front on the ground floor. Number 54 has two five-light mullion casements on the first floor and a door with a glazed upper half. There is a massive central chimney with clustered flues. To the south, there is a one-story wing with a plinth and a pantile roof. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 37 to 45, 47 to 58, 60 to 63, and 65 to 67 on Denmark Street.
