Description

These are two 17th-century buildings on the east side of Denmark Street. They are constructed of massive red brick with a pantile roof and a prominent central chimney with a spreading base. Each building is two stories high, originally featuring two casement windows per floor. Some windows have been altered, but several retain original glazing bars on the first floor, along with a small central window with glazing bars. The walls are likely clay lump and plastered, with a plinth at the base. Number 58 has been colourwashed. Number 57 features a plank door, while number 58 has a door with four fielded panels. Numbers 37 to 45, 47 to 58, 60 to 63, and 65 to 67 along Denmark Street form a group of buildings of collective group value.
