Description

This is a two-storey building, originally dating to the 17th century, located at 17 and 19 Mill Street. The upper storey is covered in roughcast rendering; the central portion of this upper storey has been renewed. A moulded string course is present at first-floor level, but is in poor repair. The lower storey has been rendered with modern cement.

The lower storey of number 17 features four sash windows within cased frames, and a six-panel oak door, now half-glazed, with a tiled hood above. The door retains old tiles. The rear of number 17 displays close-set studding, and incorporates a two-storey wing constructed of heavy square timber framing, with first-floor windows containing flush metal casements and glazing bars.

Numbers 17 and 19, together with the other listed buildings on both sides of Mill Street, form a group of buildings with group value.
