Description

These three attached dwellings, at numbers 6, 8, and 10 Mill Street, likely date to the early 17th century. They form a single two-storey building. Numbers 6 and part of number 8 have been rebuilt at the front using colourwashed brickwork. Number 10 retains much of its original character, exhibiting heavy square timber framing with a gabled cross wing on the left and a jettied first floor. Elaborate 19th-century bargeboards adorn the timberwork. The infilling between the timbers is a mix of plaster and brick. The building features an original stone plinth situated between the doorways of numbers 8 and 10. It has an old tile roof. The windows are metal casements without glazing bars. The front doors are plain, four-panelled. The listed buildings along Mill Street, on both sides of the street, form a group of buildings of group value.
