Description

This is a house located at 55 Grove Street in Royal Leamington Spa, built between 1828 and 1834, with some later alterations. The structure is made of brick with a painted stucco facade, topped with a Welsh slate roof and featuring cast-iron treads. It has three storeys and a basement, with two windows on the first floor. The first-floor windows are tall 4/4 sashes with plain reveals, while the second floor has 3/6 sashes, also with plain reveals and sills. The ground floor has an entrance on the right, featuring a round-arched opening with six roll-edged steps leading up to a part-glazed, four-panel door with an overlight. There is a tripartite window with 1/1 sashes, and the basement has a 4/4 sash window. A stack is located to the left, and decorative cast-iron grills adorn the treads of the second and third steps. The first-floor windows have replacement individual balconies. The interior has not been inspected. Historically, Grove Street was laid out in 1828, and the west side and lower part of the east side were constructed by 1834.
