Description

This is a house dating from approximately 1831 to 1833, with later alterations. It is built of brick with painted stucco facades on the front and side, and has a Welsh slate roof. The house is three storeys high with a single window on the first floor. The ground floor entrance is positioned to the right and features a partly glazed door with stained and etched glass, alongside a 6/6 sash window with simple reveals and a sill. A canted bay window on the first floor has a 6/6 sash in the centre, flanked by 2/2 sashes with margin lights. The second floor has two 3/6 sashes, similarly detailed with plain reveals and sills. Raised gables with copings are present, and there is an end stack chimney on the left side. The interior has not been inspected. Binswood Avenue was developed around 1828, and most of the houses were constructed by 1834. The house forms an architectural group with numbers 4 to 10 (even) Binswood Avenue.
