Description
Holly Cottage, also known as Number 251 and Number 251A, is a house that was once a butcher's shop, dating from the early 19th century with later alterations. The building features rusticated and scored stucco on its exterior and has a gabled Welsh slate roof with a rebuilt brick stack at the front ridge. It has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range.
The ground floor displays channelled rustication with a plat band above and plain eaves. The entrance is located to the left of centre and features a 20th-century door, while a passageway entrance at the right end leads to Number 251A. This entrance is flanked by two windows with 20th-century leaded casements, one of which has replaced a shop window. The first floor contains three windows, all with 20th-century three-light leaded casements. The interior has not been inspected.
