Description
This building, known as No. 7 Butchers, is a house and former butcher's shop dating from the late 18th century, with a 19th-century addition on the right. It is constructed of regularly coursed stone, while the addition is made of brick. The building features a brick dentil cornice throughout, a whitewashed front, an old tile roof, and a brick ridge with a 20th-century brick stack on the left end. The layout consists of a 2-unit plan that has been extended to 3 units. It stands two storeys high and has a two-window range. The entrance includes a part-glazed six-panelled door. The ground floor has two-light casements with glazing bars, while the first floor features a 19th-century casement with a horizontal glazing bar and an old leaded casement. The right part of the building includes fixed-light windows with glazing bars on the ground floor and a small single-storey range. The left return side has a gable that has been partly rebuilt in 20th-century brick. The interior has not been inspected.
