Description

A late 17th-century cottage and shop, significantly altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The construction is of squared coursed limestone, with a section of whitewashed brick on the left end and timber framing with a corner post and plastered front. The left return side is of whitewashed stone, with a partly timber-framed gable having whitewashed brick infill. The roof is covered with diagonally-set cement slate, and brick stacks are located at the right end and ridge. The building consists of three units. It is two storeys high, with a two-window front. A four-panelled door is situated on the right, and there are three-light casement windows with a horizontal glazing bar. The windows have blackened, stop-chamfered wood lintels, which are continuous over both the door and the window to the left. A mid-20th-century glazed door and shop front are on the left. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
