Description

Number 19 is a house located on Cecily Hill in Cirencester, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a Welsh slate roof, with 19th-century brick stacks at both ends, the right stack apparently shared with Number 21. The front has a broad gable or simple pediment and the house is two storeys high with an attic and cellar, comprising a three-window range.

On the first floor, there is a central 8/8-pane sash window flanked by two-light chamfered stone-mullion windows, each with 4/4-pane sashes. The gable also features a similar two-light window with a hoodmould. The ground floor has two-light windows with hoodmoulds, which contain timber casements with glazing bars. The entrance is marked by a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed, set beneath a hoodmould. There are four stone steps leading up to the door, with an iron handrail curving away on either side.

The house has a plinth with two window openings to the basement, a cill band at the first floor, and unmoulded coping on the parapet and gable. To the left side, there is an opening with a moulded stone pointed top, leading to a 20th-century extension above; this serves as rear access shared with Number 17. Additionally, there is a 19th-century cast-iron gate providing access to the garden, with the gates connected by a short section of matching railing. The interior has not been inspected.
