Description
34 and 36 Cecily Hill is a house located in Cirencester, originally known as the Dolphin Inn. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. The front is finished with cement render, and it features a stone slate roof with two stone ridge stacks and left- and right-end stacks. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a four-window range.
On the first floor, there are four two-light stone-mullion windows with flat unmoulded surrounds and bevels to the mullions, featuring 20th-century casements, with the far left window having leaded lights. The ground floor has three similar windows. A 20th-century six-panel door is set in a similar flat surround with a keystone at the center, and there is a pair of 20th-century garage doors in a similar surround to the left. The building has a shallow plinth, a cill band on the first floor, and a moulded stone eaves cornice. Two gabled dormers with 20th-century two-light casements are present, and there is a 19th-century wrought-iron bracket for a hanging sign above the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
