Description

This is an early to mid-19th century house with an attached wall and outbuilding, situated on Cecily Hill in Cirencester. The main house to the left was built in the mid-19th century, while a lower, earlier 19th-century wing is located to the right. The design reflects a revived Cotswold vernacular style.

The main house is single-storey with an attic, featuring one large and one small gable fronting the property. It has a two-window range with two 3-light stone-mullion ground floor windows, each with iron casements and a hoodmould. Matching windows are positioned in the gables above. A 19th-century plank door, featuring decorative ironwork within a chamfered stone surround and a hoodmould, is centrally positioned. A break in the left-hand gable contains a single-light window with a chamfered stone surround, the gable end being finished with trefoil stops at the apex. A coursed limestone rubble wall extends from the left gable, incorporating a lean-to shed.

The wing to the right is single-storey with an attic and a one-window range. It has a 3-light stone-mullion window with leaded lights on the ground floor. Smaller gables above contain a matching 2-light and a 3-light window. A plank door, within a chamfered stone surround divided into three panels with applied moulding, is located on the left side. The wing continues beyond a gate and screen, linking to No.31 Cecily Hill. The property is characterised by diagonally-placed ashlar flues with moulded tops on the roof ridge and at the left and right ends. The interior has not been inspected.
