Description

No. 247 High Street is a house dating from around 1810. It is constructed of brick and features a tile roof with a brick end stack. The building has a single-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a single-window range. Notable exterior features include a top modillioned brick cornice and a segmental-headed entrance on the right, which is topped by a gabled canopy and leads to a 20th-century stable-type door. To the left, there is a canted bay window with a hipped roof, containing 1:3:1-light glazing with iron opening casements. The first floor has a window with a timber lintel above a similar 3-light casement. The stack is adorned with a moulded cap. The interior has not been inspected.
