Description
Thimble Cottage is a semi-detached cottage dating from the mid to late 18th century, with a right bay added in the late 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed squared ironstone rubble, featuring a plinth and string course, along with late 20th-century ribbon pointing. The thatched roof has coped gable parapets and end stacks, with a brick stack on the left and a stone stack on the right. The cottage has a two-unit plan that has been extended to a three-unit layout. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. There is a blocked doorway with a window inserted, and late 20th-century two-light metal casements with glazing bars. The entrance is located on the right return side of the addition, featuring a cambered doorway and three-light stone mullioned windows. The interior has not been inspected.
