Description

This is a semi-detached cottage, formerly two separate units, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone, which has been whitewashed on the front and side. The roof is made of corrugated iron, and there are brick stacks at either end. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is one storey high with an attic, featuring a two-window range.

The entrance includes a half-glazed door from the 20th century, with a single light window to the left and a three-light 19th-century casement window with a horizontal glazing bar to the right. In the attic, there is an old leaded three-light casement window on the left and a small single light window on the right. To the left, there is a 20th-century single-storey addition with a half-glazed door. The building features painted wood lintels.

At the rear, there is a two-light recessed chamfered stone mullioned window to the left and a 20th-century casement window to the right. Inside, the room to the left has a large open fireplace with a rough bressumer and ceiling beams in the ground floor rooms. There is also an old settle positioned at right angles to the fireplace, which was brought in from another cottage. This cottage is included for its group value.
