Description
Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1656, built from regularly coursed ironstone with a splayed plinth. It features an old tile roof with coped gable parapets and moulded kneelers, along with stone ridge stacks. The building has an L-plan layout with cross wings and a wing on the right at the rear. It is two storeys tall with an attic and has a symmetrical front with a three-window range. The shallow recessed center contains a flush four-panelled door in a chamfered surround, with a continuous hood mould that steps up over the flanking two-light windows. The facade has recessed chamfered stone mullioned windows with hood moulds throughout. The front displays four-light windows, while the cross wings have three-light attic windows. The return sides feature three-light windows, with the left side presenting a two-window range and the right side showing a one-window range that is blocked on the ground floor. The rear of the building is irregular, with a small late 17th century or early 18th century addition in the angle and a 19th century single-storey brick addition. The interior is noted for having two moulded stone straight-headed four-centre arched fireplaces.
