Description

Rose Cottage, formerly known as North Cottage, Middle Cottage, and South Cottage, is a group of three houses located on Tysore Road in Little Kineton. This building dates from the mid-18th century and was likely converted from a stable block in the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed squared lias limestone and ironstone, featuring ironstone quoins, and has a steeply pitched old tile roof that is hipped to the left, topped with three brick ridge stacks.

The exterior stands two storeys tall and has a five-window range, highlighted by a top modillioned brick cornice. There are two entrances with half-glazed doors, and the ground floor features segmental-headed windows, two of which are in former entrances. The first floor has windows with painted lintels, all fitted with 2-light casements. The right return of the building includes an entrance, while the rear showcases ironstone dressings, a central gable on brackets with a blocked lunette, and four round-arched recesses with impost bands and brick infill to the tympana. The ground floor has various entrances and irregular fenestration, while the first floor contains five windows with 2-light casements situated between the recesses.

The interior is noted for having open fireplaces and queen-strut roof trusses.
