Description
This is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is built from squared, coursed ironstone and features a slate and corrugated iron roof with a brick stack at one end. The house has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall, with a one-storey range attached to the right side.
The front has a three-window arrangement. There is a 20th-century part-glazed door with a wooden lintel set within a 20th-century wooden porch. To the left of the door, there is a two-light stone mullioned window with a hood mould and label stops. To the right of the one-storey range, there is another 19th-century plank door. In the centre of the one-storey range, there is a three-light stone mullioned window with a hood mould, and the central window also has label stops. On the first floor, there are 20th-century casement windows to the left and right of the two-storey range. An outbuilding is attached to the right side of the house.
Inside the one-storey range, there is an open fireplace with a dressed stone surround and a bread oven to the left. The fireplace features a chamfered and cambered bressumer with stepped stops, and there is a chamfered spine beam with stepped stops as well.
