Description
Greenacre Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century and built in two phases, is a farmhouse situated on the east side of Tysoe Badger’s End Lane, near Lower Tysoe. The farmhouse is constructed from squared, coursed ironstone, with stone slate and slate roofs. It features stone ridge and end stacks. The front of the house presents a three-window range across two storeys, with a three-unit plan. A 20th-century part-glazed door is set within a chamfered surround. To the left of the door is a single-light window, and further to the left, at both ground and first floor, are three-light stone mullioned windows with flat splays. To the right of the house is a later range with two two-light stone mullioned windows on each floor, also with flat splays. All windows incorporate hood moulds and label stops. Other external details include a plinth, quoins, and a stone-coped gable on the left-hand side. Further two-light stone mullioned windows with hood moulds are found at the rear and on the right gable end. A plinth and quoins are also present there. The rear of the house includes an early 19th-century extension. The interior contains an open fireplace and a chamfered spine beam with run-out stops.
