Description

Tysoe Church of England Primary School is a school building from the mid-19th century, designed by Gilbert Scott, with additions from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is constructed of squared, coursed ironstone and ironstone ashlar, featuring a plinth, quoins, and coped gables. The roof is tiled from the 20th century, with stone ridge and valley stacks. The building has one and two storeys and a five-window range, arranged in an L-shaped plan with later additions.

On the left facade, there is a wooden door set within a pointed arch, accompanied by a 19th-century wooden and tiled porch. The two gable ends on the front display two-light windows in a 13th-century style, complete with mullions and transoms, and pointed arch lintels. A single light window is located at the top of the right gable, beneath which is a niche containing an Agnus Dei and the inscription "FEED MY LAMBS." The left facade features additional one-, two-, and three-light windows. The range on the right has openings that were altered in the 20th century, and there is a sanctus bell-turret on the gable end. A 20th-century stone wing is attached to the right side of the original school. The building is included for its group value.
