Home Farmhouse And Attached Outbuilding Range, Railings Base And 4 Piers

The Home Farmhouse and attached outbuilding range, along with railings, base and four piers, dates from the early to mid-18th century. The farmhouse is constructed of ironstone ashlar with a storey band, moulded eaves cornice, and coped gables. It has a slate roof and 19th-century stone end stacks featuring two square flues linked by a moulded cornice. The building has earlier bases and follows a two-unit plan. It is two storeys high with a three-window range. The central entrance has a four-panelled door within a Venetian-style surround, with leaded lights, and is sheltered by a hood supported on consoles. Stone steps lead to the entrance. There are Venetian-style windows with leaded casements and original iron fittings to the left and right of the front. To the left and right of the ground floor are three-light leaded stone or wood mullioned windows, the larger centre lights fitted with iron casements. A smaller three-light leaded mullioned window with an iron casement sits at the centre of the first floor. Iron rainwater heads are located to the left and right of the main farmhouse. An ironstone railing base with 19th-century piers is attached to the front, with piers positioned to the left, right, and centrally to the left and right. A two-storey range is attached to the left, featuring a storey band and a stone coped gable to the far left, along with openings with lintels and keyblocks. A 19th-century outbuilding range is attached to the left, including two roundheaded arch openings with plank doors. The interior has not been inspected.
