Description

Chamfered End is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of ironstone ashlar with a plinth, a horizontal band marking the first floor, a moulded eaves cornice, and coped gables featuring kneelers. The roof is tiled, with brick end stacks. The house has a double-depth plan and originally a two-window front. A C20 glazed door is centrally positioned, flanked to the left and right by C20 casements imitating sash windows, all with lintels and keyblocks. Further C20 imitation sash windows are situated to the left and right of the first floor. A gabled dormer is visible to the left and centre of the roof. Internally, the house retains some original beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, though the jambs have been altered. The building is included on the list for its group value.
