Description

61 Bedford Road is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone, banded with limestone, and features a 20th-century interlocking tile roof. The building has a stone end stack on the right side, which is topped with a moulded limestone cornice.

The house has a two-unit plan and is two stories high with a two-window range. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed plank door that is set beneath a wooden lintel and is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled wooden porch. The ground floor has three-light casement windows, while the first floor features a two-light casement window on the left and a three-light casement window on the right, all of which have wooden lintels. The right gable is capped with ironstone and has kneelers.

Inside, the house includes chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace that has an ogee-stop-moulded cambered bressumer.
