Description

This is a house located at 59 Bedford Road, dated 1808 but with origins from the 17th century and some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed squared ironstone and features a 20th-century interlocking tile roof, along with limestone ashlar stone end stacks that have moulded stone cornices. The house has a two-unit plan and is three stories high with a two-window range.

The central entrance consists of a six-panel door that has a stop-chamfered wood lintel and is accessed by a semi-circular stone step. There are three-light casement windows on the ground and first floors, and two-light casements on the second floor, all featuring stop-chamfered wood lintels and stone sills. Below the eaves, there is a central datestone inscribed with "D/WC.1808." The left gable end displays the roofline of an earlier building that was raised in 1808, constructed from ironstone bonded with limestone, while the rear is made of brickwork. The interior has not been inspected. The house is included for its group value.
