Description
The Croft is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed from coursed squared ironstone with a plain tile roof and brick stacks at the ends and ridge. It features a two-unit lobby entry plan, stands two storeys tall with an attic, and has a three-window range. A 20th-century door and porch are located to the left of the center, with a two-light casement window to the left that has a stone surround, although part of it has broken away on the right side. To the right, there is a three-light casement window that replaces a mullion, featuring moulded stone jambs, a stop-chamfered lintel, and a hood mould. On the first floor, there is a small central blocked window, a one-light casement above the door, and two-light casements to the left and right, all with timber lintels, except for the right window which has a stone lintel from a former small two-light stone mullioned window. At the rear, there is a two-storey outshut. The house has quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. There are also 20th-century single-storey extensions to the left and right. Inside, the property features an open fireplace with a cambered chamfered bressumer, stop-chamfered spine beams, and a stone-flagged floor.
