Description
Saddler's Thatch is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed from regularly coursed ironstone rubble. It features a steeply pitched roof covered with 20th-century tiles and has stone stacks at both ends. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window range. The entrance, located off-centre to the right, includes a renewed door and a 20th-century hood. Flanking the entrance are three-light casement windows. On the first floor, there are two three-light wood mullioned windows and a 20th-century fixed light window, all with painted stop-chamfered lintels. The left end of the house has a small two-light wood mullioned window with a painted wood lintel.
Inside, the ground floor and first floor feature stop-chamfered beams and chamfered joists, although some of the ground floor beams have been renewed. There is a wooden winder stair, wide floorboards, stone flags, and a fireplace with a wood bressumer.
