Description
This is a house located on the south side of Sheep Street in Shipston on Stour. It dates to 1714, although it was built in two phases. The exterior is of squared, coursed limestone with a rendered plinth. It has a stone slate roof and a brick ridge stack. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window front. The building’s plan is based on three units. A 20th-century door with a wooden lintel is centrally positioned on the left side. To the left and center of the facade is a three-light casement window, the central one with a chamfered surround and hood mould, with label stops indicating the former presence of a mullioned window. A 19th-century canted bay window is positioned on the right. On the first floor, a two-light casement is located on the left, a 19th-century three-light casement is on the right, retaining its original catch, and a small leaded single-light window sits centrally to the right. A datestone inscribed 'W/WE/1714' is visible on the first floor, centrally to the right. The interior has not been inspected, but it is likely to be of interest.
