Description
No. 44 Sheep Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring a rendered plinth and a dentilled cornice at the eaves. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a brick stack at one end. The building has two storeys and a two-window range, following a two-unit plan.
At the centre of the facade is a six-panelled door, which is framed by a pilaster surround and topped with a hood supported by consoles. On both the left and right sides of the ground and first floors, there are 16-pane sash windows with brick flat arches above them. Additionally, there is a passageway with a wooden lintel on the left side of the ground floor. Prominently displayed at the centre of the first floor is a lead 'Britannia' firemark. The interior has not been inspected.
