Description
Falstaff House is a house dated 1683, which was raised by a storey in the early 19th century. It is probably built of squared, coursed lias stone with a brick second floor that is now rendered, and features a plinth. The house has a slate roof with an ashlar base for the end stack and 19th-century brick flues. It stands three storeys high and has a two-window range with a two-unit plan. On the far right, there is a 19th-century four-panelled door with a plain overlight and a flat hood supported by consoles. The ground and first floors have 19th-century sashes with rendered hood moulds, and label stops from former mullioned windows are still visible. The added second floor also has two 19th-century sashes. In the centre of the first floor, there is a moulded datestone inscribed with 'W/WV/Here wee pray for/peace in our land/and wee sucess/with this in hand/1683'. The interior has not been inspected.
