Description
Number 58, known as Lansdowne House, is a house from the late 18th century located on Sheep Street in Shipston on Stour. The building is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. It stands three storeys high and has a three-window range with a double depth plan.
At the center of the house is a 20th-century panelled door that is framed by an original pilaster surround and a flat hood supported by consoles. On the left and right sides of the ground and first floors are 12-pane sash windows, with the first-floor windows featuring cambered brick arches. There is a blocked window in the center. The second floor has three openings, each with a 9-pane sash window.
Attached to the left of the house is an early 19th-century cottage and a barn conversion. The cottage has a stable door and a 12-pane sash window on each storey. The former opening of the barn has been blocked with 20th-century stone and features a bow window. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
