Description
No. 201 High Street is a house, part of which is now a shop, dating from the early to mid-18th century with later alterations. The building is constructed of roughcast brick, featuring some timber-frame elements and ashlar dressings. It has a gabled Welsh slate roof with a brick axial stack at the front of the ridge. The plan is arranged in two units.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range. It features a plastered plinth, a moulded string course above the ground floor, and a top cornice, along with rusticated quoins. The segmental-headed entrance is located at the left end and has a key block above a 20th-century door. On the ground floor, there are two windows with late 20th-century small-paned bowed windows that replaced the original segmental-headed windows. The first floor has windows with three-light small-paned pegged casements that include hanging iron fasteners. There is also a fire plaque from the County Insurance Company.
The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have exposed square framing on the left return.
