Description
These three houses, numbered 215, 217, and 219, stand on Henley-in-Arden’s High Street. Dating to the late 18th century, they have undergone subsequent alterations. The houses are constructed of brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with a gabled roof covered in old tile, renewed on the right-hand end (number 219). A brick stack is positioned centrally, and another at the end. The original design was for a double-depth plan.
The exterior is two storeys high, featuring a three-window arrangement. A top brick cornice is detailed with wide dentils. The left-hand end (number 215) incorporates a 20th-century shop window and entrance. To the right of centre, paired entrances are set within doorcases featuring fluted pilasters and a single bracketed canopy over six-fielded-panel doors. These paired entrances are flanked by windows with rubbed brick cambered arches, containing 8/8 sash windows in moulded frames. Matching windows are found on the first floor.
