Description
This is a row of three houses on High Street, Henley-in-Arden. They date from the 17th and 18th centuries and were originally timber-framed, but later bricked on the front. The brickwork is laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with the right-hand house (number 231) painted. The roofs are gabled and covered in old tiles, with three brick stacks positioned along the ridge.
The houses have a three-unit plan. The exterior is two storeys high with a three-window front. A decorative dentilled brick cornice runs along the top. A segmental-headed entrance, with a six-panel door, is located to the left of the centre, paired to the right. The ground floor windows are segmental-headed and have small-paned casements with iron opening mechanisms; two windows on the left are pegged. The first-floor windows are casements with three lights and small panes, also with iron opening mechanisms. A section of the left return wall reveals an exposed beam and roof truss. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
