Description
233 and 235 High Street are a pair of houses dating from the 17th or 18th century. They are constructed of brick laid in Flemish bond and feature a renewed gabled tile roof with a brick end stack. The houses have a double-fronted plan and stand two storeys high with a four-window range.
The exterior includes a top dentilled brick cornice and round-headed entrances. Each entrance has a doorcase with panelled pilasters and tympani, topped with hoods. The left entrance features a six-fielded-panel door, while the right has a late 20th-century door with a fanlight, replacing a glazed door. Each entrance is flanked by windows with rubbed brick flat arches above three-light 20th-century casements; the left windows are small-paned. The first floor has casement windows, with the left side being small-paned and the right side featuring 20th-century windows. There are rear wings, but the interior has not been inspected.
