Description
Nos. 3 and 4 Wood Street is a shop and office building constructed between 1840 and 1845. It is made of stuccoed brick and features a slate roof with a brick cross-axial stack. The building has three storeys and a two plus three-window arrangement. The left section has a wide eaves soffit supported by slender paired brackets, while the right section includes an entablature over the first floor, topped with a cornice and parapet. A 20th-century shop front spans the entire facade, with a small entrance on the left side that has a six-panel door. The upper floors contain windows with sills; the first floor has two windows on the left with 12-pane sash windows, while the floor above has six-pane sash windows. The remainder of the upper floors features windows with four-pane sashes. The shop continues in a rear extension that connects to High Street. The left part of the building is a continuation of Nos. 1 and 2.
