Description
39 and 39A High Street is a town house that has been converted into two shops. The building features an early 19th century refronting of an earlier structure, likely from the 1770s. It is constructed of stucco, probably over a timber frame, and has a steeply pitched roof covered with renewed tiles and brick end stacks. The design is in the Georgian style and consists of three storeys with a four-window range. There is a modillioned timber cornice at the top. The ground floor has a 20th century shop front, with part of the shop front to the left. The upper floors have windows with sills and 12-pane sash windows, with those on the left being half horned. The left return of the building features barge-boards and a finial.
