Description

Number 261 is a house located in Henley-in-Arden, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick laid in Flemish bond and features a steeply pitched roof covered with renewed tiles, along with a projecting brick end stack. The house has a single-unit plan with a full-width rear wing.

The exterior is two storeys high and has a single-window range. It is topped with a brick cornice that has wide dentils. The entrance, located to the right, features a doorcase with slender reeded pilasters and a lintel, along with a bracketed canopy over a six-fielded-panel door. To the left on the ground floor, there is a window with a sill and a rubbed brick flat arch above an 8/8 sash window. The first floor has a similar window beneath a timber lintel. The right return of the building is pebbledashed. The rear range has three windows and a dentilled brick cornice, with an entrance under a hipped canopy and an early 20th-century canted bay window beneath a hipped roof. There is a segmental-headed window to the right end featuring a two-light small-paned casement with an iron opening casement, and a similar window on the left end of the first floor, which also has two larger windows with small-paned casements. A large brick cross-axial stack is present.

At the end of the property, there is a single-storey wing that connects to a two-storey end cross-wing. The front garden wall attached to the right has terracotta coping. The interior has not been inspected.
