Description
Number 96 is a house dating from the late 18th century, with a mid-19th century rear wing. It is constructed from limewashed limestone rubble and features dressings, brick gable stacks, and a stone slate cross-gabled wing with a slate rear wing. The building has a single-room plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a 2:2-window range. The front has a two-window gable with a short left-hand gabled cross-wing. The doorway is located to the left and features a 20th-century gabled porch and a half-glazed door. The windows have cambered heads and include horned 2/2-pane sashes, along with a 20th-century attic plate-glass window. The right-hand return has a central 6/6-pane sash, while the wing features 20th-century metal casements. The interior has not been fully inspected, but it includes a through-passage leading to a rear lateral stair. Attached to the house is a former barn, which has weatherboarded walling across its west end, an arched timber lintel, and a pyramidal ridge vent.
