Description
No. 9, St Mary’s Lane is a house dating from the early 19th century, with earlier origins. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins, and has a brick gable stack on the right-hand side and a stone slate roof. The house follows a single-room plan with a parallel range to the rear. It stands two storeys high and has a two-window front. A 20th-century doorway is located on the left-hand side, along with a ground-floor casement window. There are two-light first-floor casement windows set beneath the eaves. The rear gable features a ground-floor plate-glass window and a rear attic window with a triangular head under the eaves. The interior was noted to have thick walls.
