Description

A pair of houses, originally shops, dating from around 1801 in Malmesbury. They are built of rendered limestone rubble with brick gable stacks and a stone slate roof. The houses have a single-depth layout with a rear projection.

The exterior is two storeys and an attic, with a 2-window range on one side and a 1-window range on the other. Former shop windows from the mid-19th century are visible, featuring panelled jambs and cornices with fluted consoles. Number 104 has a 2-light plate-glass window and Number 106 has a 3-light mullion and transom window. Number 104 has a central half-glazed door, a horned sash window with margin panes on the ground floor, and 6/6-pane Yorkshire sashes on the first floor. Number 106 features a doorway with a half-glazed door and a lower boarded door to the left, alongside a single central first-floor casement window.

The interior includes an attic with a collar truss roof and a boarded door to the attic stair. A rear left-hand stair has stick balusters, and the entrance hall contains a flagged floor.
