Description
No. 108 Gloucester Road is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century and a rear extension added in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of rendered limestone rubble, featuring a brick gable stack and an interlocking tile roof. It has a two-room parallel plan and stands two storeys tall, with a two-window range. The left-of-centre doorway contains a mid-20th century door, while the windows include late 19th century casements with two lights, and a three-light casement on the right side of the ground floor. Inside, notable features include a right-hand fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a left-hand chamfered reveal, along with a timber winder stair leading to the rear. The roof was rebuilt in the 19th century, showcasing a yoked ridge and butt purlins. This house is included for its contribution to the group of listed buildings along Gloucester Road.
