House. Early C19. Roughcast with limestone dressings, gable-end stacks and pantile roof. Single-depth plan. Late Georgian style. 2 storeys and basement; 3-window range, with a single storey and basement; 2-window range block to the left. Set at right angles to the road and backing into the hill, the garden front has pilasters to a moulded coping, and coped gables. A full-width C20 ground-floor verandah on timber columns has shallow segmental arches; central basement and ground-floor half-glazed doors, 10/10-pane sashes to the basement, canted ground-floor bays with 8/8-pane sashes, and 8/8-pane first-floor sashes in flush boxes, the side ones bowed. Left-hand block has a garage door to the right, half-glazed door to the left, and 8/8-pane ground-floor sashes. Street elevation has a right-hand pedimented doorcase with a 5-light fanlight and 6-panel door. INTERIOR: central hall with an open-well stair to the back has column-on-vase balusters, cornices, fireplaces and 6-panel doors. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached brick and rubble garden walls to E, with a doorway to the street with a plain architrave, panelled lintel and 6-panel door.
