Description

No. 13 Kingsdown Parade is an early 19th-century attached house on the north side of Kingsdown Parade, constructed in the late Georgian style. The building is stuccoed with limestone dressings, and the roof is not visible. It has a double-depth plan, extending over three storeys and including a basement.

The facade features pilasters extending to a cornice and parapet. Lateral steps constructed of Pennant stone lead to a semicircular-arched doorway with metal railings. The doorway contains a plate-glass fanlight and a four-panel door. A central bay is canted, extending from the basement to the ground floor. The basement has a small segmental-arched wooden doorway with a grille; the ground floor has 20th-century casements. The upper floors incorporate 6/6-pane sash windows, as does the window above the door.

Inside, a semicircular arch divides the hall, and a dogleg staircase has stick balusters and a ramped rail. The front room on the first floor is adorned with a cornice, while panelled shutters, six-panel doors, and marble fireplaces are present throughout.
