Description
Lodge Cottage is a lodge built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of brick, which is colourwashed, and rubble that is also colourwashed on the front of the ground floor. The roof has been raised, and a first floor was added in the 20th century. The building features a pyramidal roof that is plain-tiled, although it was originally thatched, and has a ridge stack made of red brick.
The cottage has two storeys and includes a 5-bay rustic verandah on both the west and north sides, with a lean-to roof supported by posts that have rustic bracing. On the first floor, there are two casement windows, while the ground floor has two windows, each with two trefoil lights set in a two-centred arch, featuring dagger tracery at the top. There is also a doorway with a similar pointed arch and a label. The north side of the cottage mirrors the design of the front.
