Description
Cottage Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of rendered brickwork with a tiled roof and end stacks. It has a T-shaped plan and is two stories high with a four-window front that is divided into two parts. The right side features a set-back wing, which presents a symmetrical arrangement of glazing bar sash windows set in moulded raised surrounds, with the outer windows being tripartite. The central entrance is adorned with a cornice on a moulded architrave, and it includes an overlight above a four-panel door. To the left, there is a widely projecting gable that has a smaller gable running up its side, which contains one window. The house may have historical ties to the Caldon Canal, as it is located near Froghall Wharf.
