Description

Poplar Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse. It is constructed of rendered brick with a slate roof, featuring two rendered stacks at the rear and a deep overhang to the eaves. The main farmhouse is two storeys high and three bays wide, with a first-floor band marking the window line. The central doorway has 20th-century glazed double doors set under a segmental arch, which has a moulded architrave flanked by brackets supporting a slightly projecting hood. Single glazing bar sash windows are on either side of the doorway, and three matching sashes are above. A two-storey, three-bay wing is located at the rear. This wing has a central doorway with a half-glazed door, plain surround, and an overlight. A glazing bar casement is located to the left of the rear wing's doorway, set under a segmental arch, while a glazing bar sash sits to the right, with two smaller glazing bar sashes positioned above and a central blocked window.
